Two-dimensional image PDA handheld terminals can collect images of two-dimensional or linear barcodes and process them using advanced decoding algorithms. This collector can read linear barcodes omnidirectionally, so it can be scanned without changing the label orientation. In addition, two-dimensional image PDA handheld terminals are also suitable for reading two-dimensional barcodes. 2D barcodes can carry more information in a smaller space than linear barcodes, making them ideal for space-constrained applications such as printed circuit board production, medical and package delivery.

The biggest advantage of standard laser PDA handheld terminals is distance: they can read barcodes from several feet away. In fact, if the printed label symbol is large enough, the laser can read from 35 feet (10.7 meters) away.


MEMS laser recognition for handheld terminals


MEMS laser PDA handheld terminals use silicon chips instead of the galvanometer of standard laser scanners, resulting in faster scanning rates, higher reliability, and greater performance advantages over standard laser scanning engines. MEMS technology creates laser scanning engines with new features, including faster scanning rates, miniaturization, excellent durability, and frictionless mechanical parts to ensure long-lasting performance. Its initial scanning rate is more than five times faster than existing mechanical laser scanners using motors, and it can be increased to thousands of scans per second in future products.


Linear image recognition for handheld terminals


Linear image PDA handheld terminals use all fixed parts without any moving parts, making them more reliable than laser scanners, which use fast-moving lenses to move the beam on the barcode. To read a barcode, a linear image PDA handheld terminal needs to illuminate it with light from an LED and focus the barcode image onto the CCD component through a lens.


Data collected by handheld terminals is basically based on different scanning heads to read one-dimensional barcode or two-dimensional code information, or read RFID electronic tag information, and store and manage the corresponding information according to management software.
